Vacation

Okay. I'm in my third week of vacation. Exactly what is wrong with this picture? I'm still home. Oh, we made reservations to go to Pigeon Forge and stay for 3 days and 2 nights. Even paid for it up front. First, we got there, checked into our tiny little room, I was unpacking our stuff and noticed I hadn't seen Doug's shirts that I told him to leave on hangers. I asked him where they were, and he casually said that they were still hanging on the closet door at home. So I finished unpacking, and asked him where his c-pap was (his machine that helps him breathe when he is sleeping and also miraculously stops his snoring). He left that at home as well. He jokingly told me that I would have to take a double dose of my sleeping medication that night. Well, like a fool, I had to tell him that I forgot to bring it. So that evening we went for a swim in the pool that only went 5 feet deep and had a few bugs floating on the top of the water. Couldn't stand it long, so we went back to the room. That night, Doug slept a little, but kept waking himself up snoring. Needless to say, I didn't sleep much either even though I had bought some Melatonin at Walgreens earlier in the day. We both got up the next morning and went for our free breakfast in the Pancake House next door, where the waitresses wore bibbed overalls and the place looked really rustic. A little too rustic for me. Every time I tried to eat a bite of pancake, I kept hearing that lady on the news that checks the ratings of restaurants and tells them to "Clean it up!" I couldn't help but wonder what the rating of that restaurant was, and kept imagining them checking the warm syrup before they brought it out and dipping the dead cockroach out of it. Or sifting through the flour to get the rat droppings out of it. The pancakes tasted wonderful, but I only at about a third of it, if that much. My hard candy that was in my purse was much better. Oh...back to the tiny little room. Doug took off his shoes and was walking around barefooted. The bottom of his feet ended up black! He had to wash them before he went to bed! Now I remember! We stayed at this same motel last time we went there. And we ended up with black feet then too. When we finished our running around (shopping), we went back to the motel, packed our stuff and checked out. I told the guy behind the counter how nasty the carpet was, but he didn't seem to mind. After all, they could rent it out again that night and get double the money because I had already paid and it was non-refundable. Next time we take a vacation, I think we'll have plenty of money saved up and go to 6 flags or something and stay in a decent motel.

About Me

I am now an RN. I love taking pictures, especially of my grandchildren. I love taking care of people and wish there was more time to do it. Management puts so much paperwork and picky stuff on us we really don't have time to do the job we are destined to do.
